'Mendy Will Bring Dynamic Edge' - Brown
Phil Brown says new signing Bernard Mendy will bring 'vast experience' and 'international pedigree' to his squad.
Mendy put pen to paper on a three-year deal on Friday morning and Brown believes the 26-year-old's flexibility will also be a big asset to his squad.
"What Bernard will hopefully bring to the team is international pedigree," said Brown.
"He has vast experience from the French Premier League and I think he has some unfinished business where the French national team is concerned. Hopefully we can help him fulfil that here.
"He brings pace and he'll bring a dynamic edge to us down the right hand side. There are two positions that he can play in - right back and on the right side of midfield.
"So he also brings flexibility in terms of a change of system."
Mendy is unlikely to feature in the Tigers' first pre-season game against North Ferriby United on Monday having not yet trained with his new team-mates, although fellow new signings Geovanni and Craig Fagan are set to figure at Church Road.
"For sure you'll see Geovanni and you'll see Craig Fagan at Ferriby. It's probably a little bit early for Bernard Mendy, but we'll assess him in training on Monday and see what standard he's at.
"Delron Buckley (trialist) will play a full game on either Monday or Tuesday night, I haven't quite decided on that one but a full game will be better for him.
"If there are any developments in terms of signings over the weekend, there may be one other (playing next week) but at this moment in time that's it."
