Andy Dawson fired a warning to his team-mates following the Tigers' 2-0 win at Watford on Sunday, insisting it is still only 'half time' in the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final.

Nick Barmby and Dean Windass fired City to their first leg victory at Vicarage Road but Dawson is well aware of the dangers the Hornets will offer at the KC Stadium on Wednesday evening.

"To win 2-0 was fantastic for us," said Dawson.

"We set our stall out and we knew that if we could come away from Watford with a clean sheet, we would have a chance at home.

"Watford showed what a good team they are and they created a lot of chances. Boaz and everybody in the team defended the best they could and we've come away with a clean sheet, which is massive for us.

"For a first leg, it was a very open game and we've come out on top. But it is only half time and there's still a long way to go."

City found themselves two goals up inside 25 minutes and Dawson felt the experience of Barmby and Windass was of huge benefit to the side.

"We know the experience 'Deano' and 'Barmbs' have and they're always in the right place at the right time.

"It was good play from Fraizer Campbell to set up the first goal and then 'Deano' reacted quickest to get the rebound for the second.

"We created chances, but so did Watford. It would have been nice if we'd scored another one, but it wasn't to be.

"They're probably thinking they could have scored one or two as well. But Boaz made some fantastic saves."

Dawson is now calling on his team-mates to remain solid at the back for Wednesday's second leg.

"It's a cliché, but there's 90 minutes of football still to play. We went 2-0 up in 25 minutes yesterday, so we know how quickly a game can change.

"We've got to go out and do what we've done all season and that is remain solid as a team."
