'It Was Meant To Be' - Myhill
Boaz Myhill said he always believed the Tigers would gain promotion at Wembley.
The Tigers made history with their 1-0 win against Bristol City on Saturday to win promotion to the Premier League for the first time and Myhill revealed afterwards that he never doubted what the outcome of the game would be.
"I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I wasn't nervous at any point on Saturday," said Myhill.
"I believed all the way through. I believed that it was our year and that this was meant to be. It's turned out that way."
Dean Windass scored the all-important winning goal, but Myhill reserved praise for the way the Tigers defended their lead as Bristol City threw everything at them during the second half.
"Once again, as we have all season, we defended well all over the pitch. We put a lot of sweat on our shirts and obviously 'Deano' has produced a moment of real quality to win us the game.
"It was written in the script that he would score and he loves his publicity so he'll be milking this. But why not? He's done a brilliant job since he came here and I love him to death!"
Myhill, who will join up with the Wales squad for their friendly against Holland at the weekend, now has the opportunity to become one of the few players to have represented the same club in every division, although he's taking nothing for granted.
"I'm not counting my chickens and we'll have a hard pre-season as we always do. But it's great to have that chance and we know we need to hit the ground running next year."
