Nathan Doyle believes the patience he has show all season is starting to pay dividends.

Since signing from Derby in January 2007, Doyle has had to play the waiting game and only made one appearance during the regular 2007/08 league season.

But the Play-Offs have been a different story. Although a substitute in both legs of the Semi-Final, Doyle has come on to have an impact in both games and has looked like a man determined to make the most of his chances.

"I'm still quite young and I've just had to be patient with myself," said Doyle.

"I've made sure I've worked hard in training and in the games when I've had a chance.

"My aim has been to give the gaffer a bit of a headache, but the main thing is I've enjoyed being involved over the last few weeks."

The second leg of the semi-final against Watford at the KC Stadium will live long in Doyle's memory.

Not only did he score his first goal in senior football to seal a 6-1 aggregate win against the Hornets, but earlier in the day he became the proud father of a baby daughter.

Now, he wants to cap a memorable fortnight with a first ever appearance at Wembley when the Tigers face Bristol City in the Championship Play-Off Final on Saturday.

"My daughter, Chloe, was born last Wednesday and to score that night was very special for me.

"To be involved at Wembley would cap a great couple of weeks. It would be one of the best moments of my career and I've never played there before.

"Whoever the gaffer picks will go out there and give 100 per cent. Hopefully I will be involved, but if I'm not I'll be wishing the lads all the best and desperately hoping they win."

But Doyle is well aware that the memories will count for nothing if the Tigers don't win.

"The lads will go out there and give it everything. We've been preparing well all this week and as the gaffer says, nobody remembers a losing finalist.

"We've done well all season and there's no reason for us to slip up now."
